Bluegreen Corporation CEO Named Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation President of Palm Beach Chapter

Bluegreen Corporation CEO John M. Maloney, Jr. was recently appointed President of the Board of Directors for the Greater Palm Beach County Chapter Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) by the organization.

    BOCA RATON, FL, July 18, 2010 /Children and Youth PR News/ -- Bluegreen Corporation CEO John M. Maloney, Jr. was recently appointed President of the Board of Directors for the Greater Palm Beach County Chapter Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), by the organization. Maloney assumes this office on July 1 for a two-year term, after serving six years on the chapter's Board. As president, Maloney will ensure continued growth and the chapter's ability to maintain an effective presence in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River counties, with the continued goal of raising the needed dollars to fund diabetes research.

"It is an honor to serve as President of our local chapter," stated Maloney. "Our community is very supportive of the work that JDRF does, with many serving on committees, as sponsors and volunteers. I know we will maintain our steady pace of keeping awareness of diabetes and its complications in the forefront, as well as the need for financial support of research."

John Maloney is President and Chief Executive Officer of Boca Raton-based Bluegreen Corporation. Mr. Maloney joined Bluegreen in 2001 as Senior Vice President of Operations and Business Development for Bluegreen Resorts. In 2002 he was promoted to President of Bluegreen Resorts. In November 2005 he was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Bluegreen Corporation. Within the community, Mr. Maloney has most recently served as Vice President of JDRF's Board of Directors, Greater Palm Beach Chapter, and Corporate Chairman of the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes in Boca Raton. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization, where he currently holds the position of Education Chair for the Palm Beach Chapter.

Maloney will lead The Greater Palm Beach County Chapter to host to six signature endeavors: Walk to Cure Diabetes (Boca Raton, Treasure Coast and West Palm Beach) each spring; a dinner-dance in Boca Raton, "One Hot Night Je T'aime Pairs" to be hosted at Woodfield Country Club on December 10; "Gem of an Evening" gala, to be hosted at the Henry Flagler Museum on Palm Beach on February 5; a destination cycling adventure "Ride to Cure Diabetes," and more.
